Meet the Refreshed gigBench

You may have noticed that gigBench looks a little different.

Over the past several months, we have been working not only on the technology behind gigBench, but also on how the brand itself shows up.

The result is a refreshed visual identity designed to better represent the platform we are building, the AEC professionals and firms who use it, and the way we want every interaction with gigBench to feel.

We are proud of where it landed.

The new gigBench is more confident, more modern, and more consistent, while still feeling rooted in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry we serve.

And while a visual refresh starts with what you see, this work was never only about changing colors or updating a logo. It was about creating a better experience.

A brand rooted in AEC

gigBench exists for a very specific professional community.

AEC is a highly technical industry built around expertise, precision, trust, collaboration, and relationships. The people using gigBench are architects, engineers, specialists, consultants, firms, and independent professionals who take their work seriously.

We wanted the gigBench brand to reflect that.

Rather than creating an identity that felt like a generic technology marketplace, the goal was to build something that feels at home in the industry itself.

Professional, without feeling corporate. Modern, without feeling trendy for the sake of it. Technical and precise, without becoming cold.

Most importantly, the identity needed to stay focused on the people and relationships that make the industry work.

Those ideas became the foundation for the new visual system.

Building a visual system, not just a new look

A successful identity has to work in more places than a homepage.

gigBench appears across the platform, website, social media, email, educational content, events, and conversations with firms and freelancers. The visual language needed to feel recognizable and consistent across all of them.

That meant thinking in terms of a complete system.

The refreshed platform includes a new color palette, updated typography, a honeycomb-inspired background system, new logo placement, and dark mode throughout the experience.

Together, those elements give gigBench a visual language that can adapt to everything from a detailed freelancer dashboard to a social post someone sees for a few seconds in their feed.

The goal is consistency without sameness.

Whether you are reading an article, exploring the platform, receiving an email, or coming across gigBench on LinkedIn, it should increasingly feel like part of the same brand.

Designed around a better user experience

The identity refresh also gave us an opportunity to think about how design supports the way people actually use gigBench.

The new visual system is being integrated throughout the platform alongside major product improvements, including refreshed freelancer and firm dashboards, interactive maps, Community, Sessions, messaging, and dark mode.

That matters because branding and product design should not exist separately.

A clear visual hierarchy can help people understand where they are. Consistent typography and spacing can make information easier to scan. Thoughtful use of color can help distinguish actions and information. A more cohesive interface can make a growing platform feel simpler to navigate.

That is ultimately what we wanted from the refresh: not simply a better-looking gigBench, but a gigBench that feels easier and more intuitive to use.

Bringing the new gigBench to life

You will see the refreshed identity appearing across more and more of the gigBench experience.

It is already being applied across the website, platform, social channels, marketing, and content, with the broader rollout happening in real time.

That also means there is more room to show the platform itself.

One of the strongest examples is the new interactive map, which gives freelancers a visual way to explore firms and gives firms a geographic view of talent. The map is a clear expression of where the brand and product meet: useful technology presented in a way that feels visual, modern, and distinctly gigBench.

Community, Sessions, messaging, and the redesigned dashboards give us additional ways to bring the new identity into the product and into the stories we share outside of it.

Built to travel beyond the platform

Another important part of the refresh is making gigBench easier to recognize wherever people encounter it.

The gigBench community does not exist only inside the platform. Professionals share ideas, resources, opportunities, and experiences across LinkedIn and the broader AEC community.

Our visual identity needs to work there too.

That is why the refreshed system was designed with social content, educational resources, event materials, email, and other marketing channels in mind.

As more conversations start inside gigBench and travel outside of it, a stronger and more consistent identity helps those interactions remain connected to the community they came from.

A better reflection of what gigBench is becoming

gigBench has grown considerably from where it started.

The platform now includes more ways to discover opportunities, connect with professionals, communicate, learn, participate in Community, attend webinars, and explore the broader AEC network.

As the experience evolved, the brand needed to evolve with it.

This refresh is our attempt to make the outside better reflect what is happening underneath: a more capable platform, a growing professional community, a clearer identity, and a gigBench experience that feels increasingly connected wherever you encounter it.

We are proud of how it came together, and we are even more excited to continue building on it.

Take a look around and explore the refreshed gigBench.
